FireFox 3.0.2 update
The FF 3.0.2 release notes mention security, stability and bug fixes (including some mac specific). I don't use it personally but there's also an update to Camino with stability and security fixes - details in the Camino 1.6.4 Release Notes. (SeaMonkey 1.1.12 released today has security fixes also.)
(Thanks to Eddie for the assist today - finally got utilities back on at home.)

Mac Pro (pre-2008) CPU Upgrade Question regarding (Harpertown) Xeon E5430s
Filling in for Mike while he's in the stone age today (no utilities) - I was considering trying this back in April but decided to sell my first gen Mac Pro and get a 2008 Mac Pro since it already had the new Xeons (not cheap), plus PCI express 2.0 slots, faster memory and a new warranty.

" I was wondering if the Intel Xeon E5430 ("Harpertown") 2.66GHz LGA 771 80W Quad-Core Processors could be installed in the first generation MacPro dual core 2.66. (These CPUs are now appx. $500 each) I saw an article in which the (earlier "Clovertown") Xeon 5355 quad cores worked perfectly.
-Mark"

I didn't dig into specs and pinouts to see if the lower voltage new Xeons would work in the earlier Mac Pro, but if you have send a FYI. (Thanks!-Eddie)
Here's a reply:

"I haven't tried it myself, but I've researched doing it several times. All of the posts I've found say the same thing: you can upgrade a Woodcrest (5100) Mac Pro to a Clovertown (5300), but not a Harpertown (5400).
-Keith"

FYI - a later mail from a reader included a note that earlier this year an early Mac Pro owner had tried a ("Harpertown") Xeon CPU in his pre-2008 Mac Pro - it didn't boot.
