EyeTV 3.0.4 Update released
The update is available via EyeTV 3's in-app update check. ElGato's EyeTV 3 updates page has details on the changes including:
  • A redesigned Editor with many usability improvements
  • A redesigned Auto Tune dialog with an additional Update Scan feature that adds channels without removing existing channels.
  • Added support for new tuners (Pinnacle 80e and Terratec Cinergy Hybrid T)
  • Several bug fixes (see linked page bugfix list)
  • Improved overall stability and performance
  • Improved playback of H.264 broadcasts
  • Fixed problems w/exports to AppleTV that repeated multiple frames

I use an internal antenna for OTA broadcasts (no cable TV) and hoped this update would fix a problem I've had with EyeTV 3.0.3 since updating to 10.5.5 - the signal strength meter didn't change anymore regardless of antenna position. (It used to be nearly real-time and useful for adjusting antenna position/improving reception.) At first I thought this wasn't fixed w/3.0.4 (twice checking and not seeing any response) but after the 3rd EyeTV 3.0.4 restart it seems to be working now.
Update - A day later and I'm seeing the same problem again. I can open prefs/show Signal strength and actually disconnect the antenna and the signal strength 'bar' doesn't change. Even closing prefs and reopening (w/no antenna connected) shows the previous level. Until recently EyeTV was one of my favorite addons for the Mac. Now it's almost useless (for several months now...) except for a couple very close stations.
