iPhone OS 3.0.1 Update released (w/SMS security fix)
The important security fix is available now via iTunes. The apple doc About the security content of iPhone OS 3.0.1 lists it fixes the SMS hole:

"CoreTelephony

FYI for EyeTV 3 users w/problems after GTX 285/driver install (getting later builds)
I don't have EyeTV 3.x on the Mac Pro used for testing the eVGA GTX-285, but a reader that does said his problems with EyeTV 3 after installing the 285's drivers were fixed by a beta/unreleased build (5238) of EyeTV 3.1.2. (The public release of EyeTV 3.1.2 is 5235.)
FYI - a reader replied to this post with notes on how can get the latest builds:

"Your readers might be interested to know that EyeTV installs a URL handler to allow direct updates. This means you can automatically have EyeTV download and install new builds that have not yet been pushed out as final supported releases. ElGato seems to post these interim test releases when trying to fix individual bugs and sometimes ask people to test them on their "EyeTV Lounge" forums. (http://forums.elgato.com)

So if you have EyeTV 3 installed, this URL will automatically download and install the build mentioned in your post: eyetv://checkforupdates?build=5238
Or, the latest EyeTV 3 build at this moment: eyetv://checkforupdates?build=5242
-Darius V."

After entering that string in the browser, EyeTV 3 will launch and get the updated build.

Atlona taking preorders for DVI to MDP converter (for Apple 24in LED Cinema display use)
Greg sent a FYI on another choice to consider (still not available yet) for DVI port graphics card owners looking for an adapter to use Apple's 24in LED Cinema display. (CircuitAssembly has one in the works, but no pricing or definite ETA yet) - Atlona is taking preorders ($179 MSRP, ETA Sept. 10th, 2009) for their (AT-DP200) DVI to Mini DisplayPort Converter.
(Personally I'd suggest waiting for the product release/end user reviews of this device before buying. And I still hope Apple will eventually revise the 24in LED Cinema display to add a DVI port...)
