Apple Bonjour Update 2010-001
Appears in Software Update today on an OS X 10.6.2 Mac here. SU info simply says "improves the reliability of connections between iTunes and Apple TV". I didn't install it yet and not seen a download page for it as of this post time. (I never saw a d/l page for the last camera Raw 2.7 update either - hope that's not a trend...)

PPC Mac owner report on getting Broadcom based 802.11N PCI card working with OS X
For a couple years there's been 802.11N PCI (and USB, PCMCIA) adapters available for Macs with OS X 10.3.x and later drivers (reports here in the past on those and sponsor OWC sells a Newer tech PCI ($39.99) and USB ($39) version) but today I recd a mail from a reader (Thanks Viktor) on how he got a Netgear WN311B-110ISS Rangemax Next Wireless-N PCI card (Broadcom BCM94321MP based he said) working in OS X 10.4.x. (OS X 10.5.x doesn't need the apple '802.11n enabler' but he's using 10.4.x so had to install it via Pacifist. It was a Univ Binary he said as was the IO80211Family Kernel Extension w/AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext he installed from OS X Server v10.4.7.)
But like the typical Ralink chip based N cards, he said it's limited to 2.4GHz. (I've not searched for current US prices on the card but he noted paying about 100 euros, quite a bit higher than the typical Ralink based cards.) He included several photos/screenshots and I'll be posting his comments and images later on a separate page.
(BTW - despite the typical Ralink PCI/USB 802.11N adapters only having 2.4GHz support, a year or so ago I was able to use 5GHz mode with a Linksys Dual-Band 802.11N USB adapter (appx $60 IIRC) with my PowerBook G4 (running 10.3.9 at the time) by editing the RAlink driver plist to include the Linksys adapter ID.)
Update: I've now posted Viktor's notes/pix/screenshots on a separate page - Netgear WN311B-110ISS Rangemax (802.11n) PCI card in G5 Tower

Reminder on drive heights (15mm) in high-capacity Seagate FreeAgent Go cases
I hate to repeat this as I know regular readers already saw it, but had another macbook pro owner that didn't see the Nov 23rd news page post on 15mm high drives in the FreeAgent Go 1TB and reportedly in the 880GB and 750GB models as well. (I had also linked it on the storage/HD and recent articles page but if a repeat here again saves another owner from wasting $$$ and time it's worth it.)
And while on the subject, in case anyone missed my October posting/pix, the WD Passport high-cap drives (including 1TB) are USB only designs. Not an SATA drive inside.

(Unofficial) Status update on Crucial M225 SSD Firmware Update
Nothing official yet, but comments from a CS rep recently on when we can expect new M225 firmware (previous comments targeted late last month but that didn't happen). "We are currently still working on the final launch of the new Firmware and we expect it to be available in the next two weeks." [BTW - some owners replied this is just a canned response and had doubts that it will be released in 2 weeks. However since other vendors already posted new Barefoot firmware recently, I hope Crucial will soon.] The next update is said to be non-destructive, but as always, have a current backup regardless. (Expected to be same fixes as SuperTalent's barefoot SSD 1916 update listed in yesterday's news, as most brands except OCZ just use the reference firmware releases from Indilinx.)
