Valve Comments on SL Graphics Update and Source Game Performance/Feature Improvements
Valve has a long post regarding improvements from yesterday's Snow Leopard Graphics Update, including some specific details. Check it out at their page on Game Performance Improvements in Latest Mac OS X Update. Well worth a read if you're interested in the subject.
(And BTW - there's some recent updates to most of the Mac steam/source games (Portal/TF2/HL2/HL2 Episodes, CS Source, etc.) - see SW listing below for info.)

$99.99 Intro Price on 40GB Sandforce SSD, Discounts on RAM upgrades
(From my site sponsor.)

"Fastest SSD Under $100; 8GB RAM Kits as low as $155.99!
First off - right on the heels of getting another stellar review, this time from Macworld with a 4.5 out of 5 Mice, we're excited to have a special August offer of $99.99 intro pricing on our new 40GB model addition to the Mercury Extreme Pro SSD line.
This isn't just the fastest SSD under $100 - this entire line has been repeatedly ranked/rated as one of the fastest SSD options period. And unlike many other SSDs still on the market today - it stays fast too.
Pricing will go up on this SSD after the month ends - so this is an incredible deal that breaks a price barrier to allow people to experience just what an SSD can do for their Mac. We have several videos showing side by side performance tests and still can hardly show what it feels like (the huge difference it makes) even on a Mac from 2-4 years ago.

And upgrade select MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac minis with a NuRam 8GB Kit (4GB x 2) for $209.99 - $205 for Xlr8YourMac Readers! + you can trade in existing Apple 2GBx2 set for a net cost of only $155!
Upgrade new 'Late 2010' iMac Models (introduced in July) with a NuRam 8GB Kit for $214.99. (You can add to existing 4GB for 12GB total) or choose 16GB for $429.97 + the option to trade in existing 2GBx2 Apple factory set for another $50 back!
Even before the trade-in rebate, these upgrades can save you up to 64% vs. factory CTO ram option costs!
Our guides for upgrading all Macs - including the latest 2010 Mac Pros too, can be found here.
Great stuff for great Macs! :)

BTW - As a reader mentioned in the August 10th news page (Follow-up from 8-core Upgraded 2006 Mac Pro owner (getting a new 2010 Mac Pro)) - You can save over $1,000 on their lifetime warranty 16GB RAM kits for 2010 Mac Pros vs the base model's 16GB CTO upgrade cost. (And their 32GB kit is over $2K less than the CTO cost. You can get their 64GB upgrade for less than the CTO 32GB upgrade cost.) The cost savings on memory upgrades can help pay for a faster CPU.
